Overview
The TolC homologue of Brucella suis is involved in resistance to antimicrobial compounds and virulence.
The TolC homologue BepC of Brucella suis is involved in resistance to various antimicrobial compounds and virulence. BepC restores drug efflux in E. coli tolC mutants and contributes to resistance against chloramphenicol, acriflavine, erythromycin, ampicillin, tetracycline, and norfloxacin. Mutations in bepC increase sensitivity to bile salts, dyes, and antibiotics.
