Mechanism and Suppression of Lysostaphin Resistance in Oxacillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

PMID 11302806 · 2001

The study identifies mutations in the femA gene as the mechanism for lysostaphin resistance in oxacillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and shows that coadministration of β-lactam antibiotics can suppress this resistance.
