serine/threonine protein phosphatase
Overview
A novel STK1-targeted small-molecule as an "antibiotic resistance breaker" against multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
The study identifies STK1 and STP1 as key regulators of cell wall biosynthesis and antibiotic resistance in Staphylococcus aureus. Inhibition of STK1 activity by the small molecule Inh2-B1 enhances the bactericidal activity of cephalosporins against multidrug-resistant S. aureus.
