Characterization of a Variant of vga(A) Conferring Resistance to Streptogramin A and Related Compounds.

PMID 10952567 · 2000

A variant of the vga(A) gene was identified and characterized, which confers resistance to streptogramin A and related antibiotics in Staphylococcus aureus.

Molecular analysis of resistance to streptogramin A compounds conferred by the Vga proteins of staphylococci.

PMID 15728891 · 2005

The study identifies and characterizes the Vga proteins, including vga(A), vga(A)v, vga(B), and Lmo0919, as conferring resistance to streptogramin A (SGA) and lincosamides in staphylococci. It also shows that vga(B) increases resistance to pristinamycin, a combination of SGA and SGB.
