Key Findings

The study identified methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in bulk can milk and raw milk products in South-West Uganda, with 56.1% of isolates carrying the mecA gene. Additionally, 90.2% of the isolates carried at least one enterotoxin gene, highlighting a significant risk of foodborne disease transmission.
