Knockouts of acrB, rfaG, and lpxM in E. coli resulted in hypersensitivity to multiple antibiotics, including trimethoprim, chloramphenicol, erythromycin, and others. These gene deletions reduced the ability of E. coli to develop resistance under antibiotic pressure, suggesting their potential as targets for resistance-proofing strategies.
